$27M Series A, new guides and meetups, plus Magic on Discord!
Magic newsletter #7
The summer is off to the races!
Series A 🚀
Last week, we announced that Magic has raised a $27M Series A!
This is a big step forward in our mission to safeguard user trust with internet services. With this new funding, we will double down on empowering developers and advancing our decentralized identity tech.
The team and I are very excited and grateful for the support.
The amazing apps you’re building with Magic inspire us to continue to roll out enhanced features and more passwordless authentication options, including SMS and MFA.

New guides ⚡
We made some key improvements to our search bar, so it’s easier to find the guides you’re looking for.
Check out our newest templates and tutorials:
How to add Magic Link to a Gatsby site
How to add Magic Link to a Svelte application
Shout out to Sean Mullen, who created the Svelte guide as our first guest author! If you’d like to write for Magic, tell us more about the tutorial you want to create by completing this form.
Community meetups:
Jamstack for all ✨
For our latest Close-up Magic meetup, we welcomed Jason Lengstorf, VP of Developer Experience at Netlify, to talk about:
What inspired him to start developing using the Jamstack architecture
How companies of all sizes can adopt Jamstack
His #1 suggestion for someone starting out in Developer Relations
In case you missed it, here’s the Twitter Spaces recording.
Next up, we’re inviting Praveen Durairaju, Sr. Developer Advocate at Hasura, to chat with us about what it was like to be an early employee at Hasura, GraphQL, Developer Advocacy, and more.
If you’re intrigued by these topics and are also curious about what it’s like building a backend with GraphQL and a database from scratch vs. The Hasura Way, this meetup is for you.
Save your spot early and sign up here.
Magic on Discord 🤖
Did you know the Magic community has a Discord server? It’s a new spot for us to gather to chat, as well as help answer any questions you might have.
Whether you’re a developer or just keen to join the discussion on auth, decentralized identity, or other modern infra like blockchain — come and say hi!
