With 2022 around the corner, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible past year.
Since Magic launched in 2020, the team and I have been focused on solving the internet’s identity problem, in addition to onboarding mainstream users into Web3.
This year was all about momentum — the number of developers building with Magic grew 500%! Now, we’re securing millions of user identities for companies of all sizes and verticals.
Our vision is to build the passport of the internet. To empower you and this wonderful community to build apps with delightful onboarding experiences for users.

🖼 Help welcome the next billion users to Web3
The NFT space saw explosive growth across NFT gaming, art & collectibles, marketplaces, and infrastructure. If you’re building a NFT dApp, Magic helps you unlock growth by boosting conversion rates, supporting multiple blockchains, and offering customizable UX.
We recently refreshed our site to include features and benefits for NFTs — check it out!
💌Custom Email Provider
Now you can configure the sender of Magic link emails by routing emails through your own SMTP server. Enabling a custom SMTP gives you full control over where your app's login emails are sent from, as well as the sender name and email address.
Head to the Settings page in Dashboard and unlock access to this premium feature by emailing sales@magic.link.
📲 SMS Login support for Mobile SDKs
SMS Login support has been released to Flutter, iOS, and Android SDKs! This enables developers to easily integrate SMS Login to their applications on all platforms supported.
MFA, now free until Jan 14, 2022 🔐
We’ve listened to your feedback and the team has been iterating on pricing to make it more simple and transparent.
Some updates on MFA pricing:
If you haven’t already enabled MFA, we’re making it free for an additional two weeks, until January 14, 2022.
Starting January 15th, you will need to email sales@magic.link to enable MFA.
Apps that have already enabled MFA by the 15th will maintain access.

🎮 Community hackathon 👾
This month, we manifested Game On Hackathon, where anyone can build a game or a gamified experience.
While we had an awesome group of early participants, we’ll be postponing the hackathon until early 2022 to make it even bigger and better. Details to come.
🤙 Community Calls ✨
Our Community Calls sparked discussion on fun passion projects and included demos of the latest features we've shipped. Plus, members shared valuable feedback on how to continuously improve the Magic SDK.
Next year’s Community Calls will be even more exciting and include co-creating with all of you.
🎩 Close-up Magic 🐇
Close-up Magic meetups brought developers from around the world to inspire and learn together. We welcomed 14 special guests across 10 sessions to share insights on Jamstack, no-code, dApp development, DAOs, and more.
A sincere thank you for joining us for these lively sessions.
