What’s new in Magic ✨
Magic newsletter #3
It’s Sean, CEO at Magic.
The new year is off to an exciting start! I’m writing to you from my home office in San Francisco with some big updates to share.
Social Logins 💥
Now you can enable users to sign in via Google, Apple, Facebook, LinkedIn, Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, and Twitter.
NPX Create Magic App 💫
Getting started is easier than ever, using this simple CLI tool to spin up a React or Next.js app with Magic auth built-in (with add-ons like Hasura, Social Logins, and Web 3.0).
After a series of interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style prompts, you’ll have a working Magic app!
For an added layer of protection, you can enable users to sign up and log in to your web app with a FIDO2 device (YubiKey) or with biometrics (Touch ID) when using Google Chrome.
30+ Languages 🌎
We recently launched support for 30+ languages — our first time making Magic available in more languages. You can now customize the popup modal, email, and confirmation screens to French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and more.
For info on localization, head to this doc.
Accessibility Support 🎨
Magic’s out-of-the-box UI is compliant with WCAG standards, so key accessibility standards are covered right from the start.
Request Anomaly Detection 🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️
Have peace of mind knowing Magic’s system detects, blocks, and prevents attacks based on usage patterns. Think of this as your “always-on security defense” that resolves issues with fraud, email deliverability, and malicious requests before they happen.
Redirect URL 🔗
You can now add a redirect URL to the magic link flow, so users no longer have to go back to the original tab to complete login.
